Anti-aging Eye Care Regimen

My favourite eye care products.

The skin around the eyes is very delicate and thin so its always advisable to use products that are specially formulated for the eye. If you are a 30 something and freaking out about wrinkles; you can’t look in the mirror without checking to see if you have developed any fine lines within the last 30 minutes…lol then investing in special eye products is a must!

Cleansing

My eye care routine is quite simple, I mean there isn’t much to do around that area, I don’t recommend that. When I have make up on, I start by  first removing the make-up with Lancome Bi-Facial. It is gentle cleanser for the face as well as the eye area. It does a  good job of removing  all traces of eyeliner and mascara without irritating the eyes.

I currently use Truly Gentle face wash from Clean & Clear for my face, you can check out this review. Review on Truly Gentle. I usually buy this product from the ECPL pharmacy in Accra. There are several places to buy it on line.

Day Time Eye Serum

I mentioned this in an earlier post, the Obagi Elastiderm Eye serum is by far the best eye product I have used for dealing with fine lines and puffiness. The main ingredient is Malonic acid which stimulates cell production. A pharmacist recommended it to me. This serum instantly tightens the skin on application, trust me I’m not exaggerating it defines instant gratification…haha. I use it mainly as my day time eye serum, it’s light on the skin and absorbs really fast. I developed crows feet probably because I didn’t take better care of my skin then, well amidst the on-going stress too. I had occasional puffiness from lack of sleep. It’s been a great delight discovering Elastiderm eye serum.

Night Time Eye serum/Cream

The Eye Concentrate by La Mer is one of my favorite eye creams, it contains the mineral rich ingredient called Hematite. This formulation is rich in nutrients and oils that are supposed to help with dark circles, I’d score it a 3.5/5 on that. It’s a day and night cream but I prefer to use it sparingly because it is so expensive, and it doesn’t absorb fast. I want to get the full benefits of the rich nutrients which I believe is best achieved at night when I’m relaxed and sleeping.

Another product I use at night is the Clarins Extra Firming Eye serum, though its a day and night cream. I like the feel and look of the serum, very sparkly and smells great too. I am not too too impressed with this product I guess it would be just okay for a 20 something who doesn’t have  too much to worry about.

The last thing I do before bedtime is apply castor oil along my lash line, to stimulate growth, I’m not consistent with this. Hopefully now that I have mentioned it I will get strict with it so I can update you on my lash growth progress 🙂

All these products can be purchased online but sadly most of the online stores don’t ship to Ghana. You purchase Clarins products  at any Fifth Avenue branch in Accra.
