Best Skin Care Routine
2015 through mid 2016 was a rough time for me which took a toll on my skin, I had a breakout leaving behind dack spots on my T-Zones. Those are the hardest to get rid off. I must confess I spent so much on face treatments to restore my skin back to normal. Even that was a disaster. My first attempt was Brightenex 1.0% Retinol by ZO Skin Health for treating hyper pigmentation. If you are familiar with ZO Skin Health and Obagi brand, you know that most of their products are sold through professionals and they won’t just a sell a bottle to you without consultation. But trust this Dagaati girl to completely ignore all the instructions given. I was specifically told not to use it on my neck which I did anyways. I was out and about in the sun a lot and I used the product daily contrary to the instructions. The skin around my face got burned and my neck sore. Thinking back I really do not understand why I flouted all the instructions…maybe I was in a hurry to achieve a spotless skin. Whatever adverse reaction I got from Brightenex I totally deserved. Zo Skin health has amazing products by the way, my favourite is their eye serum which deserves a separate review.
I have enjoyed using the products I will talk about below, the dark spots on my face are fading and my skin tone has improved.
This link is to a similar product, I bought mine from one the beauty stands in Debenhams at Mall of the Emirates, I don’t remember the brand but mine is so overused there is literally no visible writing anywhere on it. This cloth gets all the makeup off your skin and I mean all of it. All you do is wet it with water ordinary water.
I then use my brush to deep cleanses to break down all the dirt and sebum. I prefer to use my brush with cleansing creams, that is what is recommended by the brand, I don’t know if any of you uses foaming lotion or liquid cleansers with it. My favourite cream cleansers are the Offects Hydrating cleanser from Zo- Skin Health and La Mer Cleansing Lotion. Sometimes in the morning when I’m in a hurry I skip this routine but I’m religious with it at night.
I don’t really have any favourite cleansing toners, most of the toners I use are free ones I got after purchasing other beauty products. Currently I’m using the Orlane Astrigent Purifying Lotion, toners are good for balancing the pH of your skin this is essential because soaps changes the pH levels and they help minimize pores.
I mix the Vitamin C powder with the Serum Repair (contains hyaluronic acid) in my palm before applying to my face in the morning, this is after my cleansing routine and then I apply my face cream. I don’t have a regular face cream by the way 🙂
